i have a friend named spencer, he got arrested sometime this month,
and i registered on vine to be notified if he was released or anything changes in his status,
well i sent him a letter on monday, july 14. 08 and was notified on thursday the 10th (3 days later) that he was moved.
i called fresno county jail, and the lady said it didn't show where he was moved. and i have checked everywhere and i can't find him. if someone could find him, it would mean the world to me.

Unfortunately California is one of few states that still does NOT have an inmate locator online for personal use.... you have to call their inmate locator number which its best to call in the early morning hours...To locate an offender within the jurisdiction of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation you can call the Identification Unit at (916) 445-6713. You must provide the full name and the month, day and year of birth or CDC identification number for the subject of your inquiry. This unit can only provide you with the current location and CDC identification number for the offender. The Identification Unit does not have and will not provide any future release date information. This service is available only Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. excluding state holidays. You may also fax your inquiry to the Identification Unit at (916) 322-0500.

The best thing I know you can do is one call the last prison you KNOW he was locked up at - ask them what COUNTY he was released too- this way you will have the county he was released too or if you already know that is even better... call the probation/parole office for that county and tell them you are trying to locate the officer who is in charge of his case....tell them you would like to get a message to him. They will not release any of his information TO YOU as that is marked private, but maybe you will get a nice officer who will deliver a message to him! Only way I know to help you other than trying to get in touch with some of his family and trying to get a message to him that way! Hope some of this helps you out a little.

I did a search for a Jerome just in general not knowing what state - and I found a Jerome Jay Lee he is 44yrs of age but he was released 12-18-2002 not sure if that is him or not....

For California - San Quentin... you can call this number (916) 445-6713 and tell them his name - they will ask you his date of birth if you dont know his EXACT date of birth what you can do is give them a month and day if you know about how old he is- if you think he is 37 tell them maybe 3-12-68....they will probably come back and say they dont have that date of birth but they have that name....ask them if you can have the information for that person... if you call later at night most of the times the person who is answering the phone is bored and trying to stay awake anyways - and more than willing to help you in any way they can - keeps them awake and gives them something to do!!!
